Supporting health, education, and environment in South Lebanon

1for3.org, a 501(C)(3) registered non-profit in Massachusetts, is an organization founded almost 15 years ago. We began working in Palestine in 2013.  Our programs in Palestine are growing tremendously. The change in people’s daily lives that our programs have provided is truly astounding and we have the same hope for Lebanon.

In June 2025 we expanded our work to South Lebanon under 1for3-Lebanon. Our successful experience over the many years in the West Bank, despite the major disruptions and conflict there, has given us the confidence, know-how, and experience to expand our work into South Lebanon.

We chose this area for a number of reasons; primarily because the people of South Lebanon have asked us to and they desperately need it. Our base is in Jdeidet Marjayoun, which is close to the Israeli border. The people in the surrounding villages are religiously mixed, covering the main Lebanese sects. Our work is currently focused in Burj el Mulouk, Qlaya’a, Marjayoun, Dibbin, Blat, Bwaydah, and Ibl el Saqi. We are non-religious and non-political. We simply are helping people in need and the need is great.

Our support means that the locals can remain steadfast in their resistance on their land and most importantly not become refugees.

Our esteemed country Director is Salim Barkett. We are extremely lucky to have Salim help lead the way.
